What is Kidspoints?
Kidspoints is a great, FREE TO USE reward system for kids both online and via parents' mobiles.

Who is Kidspoints aimed at?
Kidspoints is mainly for children between the ages of 4 and 12 along with their parents.

How does Kidspoints work?
Register for FREE and set up a personalized task chart for your child.
Parents and kids agree a reward from our Toys/Rewards section - or you can choose any reward from anywhere you like.
Points are earned by successfully completing the task - how many and how often is up to you and you can also add bonus or minus points along the way.
The points total required to successfully earn the agreed reward is fixed at 100 points - keeping things nice and easy for you and your child.

Do I have to pay to use the Kidspoints website?
No, using the Kidspoints site is totally FREE.

Do I have to register to use Kidspoints?
Yes, in order to use Kidspoints we need to take some details from you such as name, address, e-mail address etc. and, of course the names and details of your children. We use your kids' e-mail information to send updates about task charts, certificates and other updates. If you want to monitor this communication feel free to enter your e-mail address as the contact for your children. We do not sell or rent children's data to third parties.

Is the information I give you safe?
Yes, we take great care over the personal data that you submit on the site and do not share it without your permission. We do not sell or rent your childrens' data to third parties.

Do I have to give you my credit card details?
No, as Kidspoints is free to use you do not have to give any credit card or other payment details.

Can I set as many tasks as I like for my kids?
On Kidspoints you can set one task at a time but you can change this task as often as you like. Along with the task you set you are also able to add and subtract points for your child's General Behaviour.

Why can I only set one task at a time?
We believe that to really engage and inspire, the tasks should be SMART, focused and memorable. Having one task for your child to concentrate on, along with Bonus/Minus points is the most effective way to get the best out of Kidspoints.

Can I set my own unique tasks or do I have to use yours?
To make it easy we have listed a number of tasks that you can choose from but if none of them take your fancy then by all means you can enter your own task. Simply choose the "set my own task" option in the Task section and follow the prompts.

I see you say you can update using my mobile phone?
Yes, You can add or subtract points from anywhere by texting 81025 from your mobile phone. Simply text using the corresponding Kids TEXT Update Number as listed in your login account, e.g. :Kid 1 + or - 5 to 81025. So, to add 5 points for your first registered child you would text: Kid 1 +5 to 81025 or to subtract 5 points you would text: Kid 1 -5 to 81025. Make sure you leave spaces between words and numbers as indicated above. You need to use the phone you have registered with us. If you would like to register a mobile phone you can do so on the registration page (Texts charged at 25p plus standard tariff).

What sort of reward should I give my child for completing a task?
That is totally up to you. There are lots of links on the Kidspoints website which will take you to some great retailers and special offers on toys and gifts that you might like to buy. Alternatively the reward might be a trip to the beach, the park, the zoo or maybe the cinema A reward does not have to have a monetary value attached to it.

Do Kidspoints have any monetary value?
No, Kidspoints do not have any monetary value.

How do I set a task for my child?
Go to your child's task chart and click on the task section.
Then you can set a task using the dropdown menu in the pop-up window. You can choose from our suggestions or set your own.
The target number of points is fixed at 100 points.
You can update the task as often as you like as you child works towards their target of 100 points.
In the "Points allocation" box enter a reminder for how you plan to award points for the task you have set your child.
You can decide to award points on a regular basic - such as 2 points twice a day for brushing teeth, 4 points per day for walking the dog or even 60 points for learning to swim.
However this is just a reminder for you - it's also up to you to update the task chart with the correct points whenever it is required.
And don't forget to add bonus or minus points for good or naughty behaviour outside of the set task!
Once 100 points is reached we will e-mail your child a personalised certificate confirming that they have reached their target (it's up to you to deliver on the reward!)

What happens when I set a task for my child?
Once the task is set we will e-mail a notification to the e-mail address associated with that child. We will let them know the task, the reward and the number of points required. The task, reward and points required will also appear on your child's task chart.

How does my child access their task chart?
When you register as a parent you will also set a username and password for your child's account. Once you have done that, the child can access their account and task chart by clicking on the Kids tab on the login page and entering the correct details.

What are the differences between the task charts?
The task charts are the same but your child has the option to choose a different theme for the chart that appeals to them. There are 6 themes to choose from appealing to both boys and girls.
Bullseye
Horse Jumper
Motor Racer
Football Star
Treasure Island
Swimming Champion

How often and how many Kinspoints should I gave? Do I have to decide this for myself?
Yes, it's up to you to add the number of points you want to give your child.
Simply enter the number of Kidspoints your child has earned beside the corresponding day - you can update these points as many times as you like and whenever you like.
So, for example, you might want to login once a week and add points retrospectively for each day. Or you might login every day and award the points as you go along. Whatever works best for you.
Alternatively, adding points by text means you don't need to login again until the task is complete which is a really handy feature to use.
The total number you enter in the box is the task points earned for the task that you have set, added to the bonus or minus points you have also awarded.
For example if it is Monday and you have decided that "make my bed in the morning" = 3 points and "threw tantrum in supermarket" = minus 1 point...then 3 points minus 1 point = 2 points is the total for the day. So you enter 2 into the Monday box.
If you subsequently want to update this total, simply type the revised number into the box. So, in the example above, if you wanted to award another 6 points bonus points you would change the "2" to an "8." Then if you wanted to minus 2 points you would type "6" instead of the "8."
You can do this as many times as you like. Easy!
The points you add (or subtract) will update on your child's task chart.
Only you are able to enter points via your account as you child has read-only access to this feature.
The points total that your child is working towards is fixed at 100

What happens when my child reaches 100 points?
Once the 100 points are reached is completed we will e-mail a personalized Certificate of Excellence to the e-mail address you provide us. This is a colourful and fun A4 certificate that can be printed and displayed in your child's room or wherever else gives them a sense of pride!

Can I change a task before the points total has been reached?
Yes, you can change a task any time by going to the task chart.

What happens when my child reaches the agreed points total?
When the points total is reached we will send an e-mail to the e-mail address registered to that child along with the parent's e-mail. It is up to you to deliver on the reward but we provide useful links and suggestions for reward ideas

Do I have to login and add Kidspoints every day?
No, whilst the task can be graded on a daily basis you can login once a week or however often you like to put in the scores. The process is very quick and painless and should only take a minute.

Who else can view my childrens' details in my account?
Your child's details and task chart are only visible to yourself.

What happens if I forget my password?
Simply type your e-mail address into the forgot password section on the login page and we will e-mail you your password.
